Two dead in Orange County crash

GOSHEN - State Police from Monroe responded to a two car crash, Sunday evening, on Route 17 westbound near Exit 122A in the Village of Goshen. 

An SUV driven by Julian Hermosillo, 29, of Chester, was traveling east on 17 when he  lost control of the vehicle and crossed over the guiderail into the westbound traffic lanes colliding with a car that was traveling west. That car was driven by Vincenzo Avanzato of Oneonta, N.Y.

Hermosillo was dead at the scene.

The driver of the westbound car and three occupants were transported to Orange Regional Medical Center for medical attention.   Giuseppa Avanzato, 90, of Oneonta, NY, a back seat occupant succumbed to internal injuries later at the hospital.  Vincenzo Avanzato remains in critical care at the hospital.  The other two westbound vehicle occupants, Ruth Avanzato and Marco Lelli, were treated and released.  

The cause of the accident remains under investigation. The Goshen Fire Department, Goshen Volunteer Ambulance Corp and Mobil Life responded to and assisted at the scene.
