NYC man indicted for murder of girlfriend and infant daughter

NEW YORK - A Manhattan man was indicted by a grand jury for allegedly murdering his ex-girlfriend and their one month old daughter.

Eligido Lind, 21, of 42 East 129th Street, Manhattan, is charged with one count of murder in the first degree, two counts of murder in the second degree, two counts of manslaughter in the first degree, and one count of criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.  An additional felony charge of arson in the third degree is still pending before the grand jury.

The indictment alleges that Lind caused the death of Luisa Rodriguez, 32, by “repeatedly stabbing her with a sharp object or objects” in her head, neck, arms and torso. Lind allegedly also caused the death of, Angela Rodriguez-Lind, his daughter,” by inflicting blunt force trauma” to the infant’s head and neck.

The bodies of the mother and newborn child were discovered on Thursday, October 25, 2012 when firefighters went to an apartment at 3034 Albany Crescent, the Bronx in response to a fire that the defendant allegedly had set.

Lind is scheduled to be arraigned on Friday, December 7, 2012 in State Supreme Court.
