STATEWIDE – Polls across New York State are open from 6 a.m. to 9 p.m. One unusual factor this year is Hurricane Sandy. Gov. Andrew Cuomo issued an executive order allowing voters displaced by the storm to vote by affidavit ballot at any poll site in New York State. Most of the attention in this quadrennial election is on the apparently very close contest, nationally, for president. New York voters also have a U.S. Senate contest, and all U.S. House seats on the ballot, along with an assortment of county and municipal contests, even though this is an ‘off’ year for state Senate and Assembly seats. |
