Power outages remain widespread

NEW YORK – An estimated 1.7 million New York State residents remain without electricity three days after Hurricane Sandy hit.  That number is down from an initial 2.2 million.

Hundreds of utility crews were brought in from many states in anticipation of the storm.

Full power restoration could take a week to ten days.
