Buffalo Law Department to help homeowners facing foreclosure

BUFFALO – Mayor Byron Brown and his administration are committed to stabilizing neighborhoods, keeping communities intact, and doing all they can to give families and business owners the extra support and security they need to avoid foreclosure. In advance of the City of Buffalo In Rem 46 Foreclosure Sale, the City of Buffalo Law Department will offer payment plans to property owners at risk of losing their property to foreclosure.  Those who are at risk of losing their property due to unpaid city taxes, user fees, or water charges are encouraged to speak with an attorney from the City of Buffalo Law Department, to work out a reasonable payment plan.

Continuing through Friday October 26, attorneys from the City Law Department will be present at Erie County Court (Basement Part), located at 25 Delaware Avenue, Buffalo, NY 14202.  All property owners must register to speak with a City Attorney between 8:30 a.m. and 12:00 p.m. each day with meetings taking place until 4:00 p.m. each day.

Property owners will need to bring valid picture identification in order to enter into a payment arrangement.  No appointment is necessary for Courthouse meetings.  Please call (716) 851-4343 for additional information and details.
