Two van occupants dead following crash with large truck
CLARENCE - State Police in Clarence with assistance from Amherst Police Department are investigating a two person fatal that occurred on Transit Road in Clarence, just north of Muegel Road. A tractor trailer driven by a Cato NY man was southbound on Transit Road, when it veered into northbound traffic and struck a van. The van was pushed through a telephone pole and into the Veterinary Business at 6241 Transit Rd.
The two occupants of the van, Howard Vahue, 75 and Barbara Vahue, 68, of Amherst, were dead at the scene. The driver and passenger of the truck were not injured.
Charges are pending the final outcome of the investigation.
