Oneida County escapee quickly recaptured
ORISKANY – An inmate escaped from a recreation area at the Oneida County Correctional Facility on Wednesday. He didn’t get far.
John Santoro, 25, was pursued by members of the Sheriff’s Office Correction Division and Road Patrol and captured, within minutes, a short distance from the facility. Santoro will be charged with escape in the 1st degree, a felony.
A full investigation into the incident has been initiated.
