Former mail carrier sentenced for theft of government funds

BUFFALO – A rural carrier associate for the US Postal Service pled guilty in federal court in Buffalo on Wednesday to collecting unemployment insurance benefits to which she was not entitled. Jennifer Moshier, 37, of Cuba, NY faces up to one year in prison, a fine of $100,000 or both.

Moshier applied for and received unemployment insurance benefits on 38 separate occasions and failed to report income earned from three other employers totaling over $7,500.

She will be sentenced next January.
