Repeat sex offender convicted for fourth time

ALBANY - A Watervliet was found guilty after a jury trial of two counts of predatory sexual assault against a child, a felony and two counts of endangering the welfare of a child, a misdemeanors.

During September 2009 and then between the dates of April 1, 2010 and August 31, 2011 Farnham engaged in sexual intercourse with a child under the age of 11.  Farnham has three prior convictions for sexually based offenses.

“Our greatest obligation is to the safety and protection of our children”, said DA David Soares.  “This defendant exercised his power and control to perpetrate his crimes against a vulnerable child.  But ultimately it was the strength, courage, and voice of the victim that prevailed.”

Farnham remains in custody and faces up to 50 years to life in state prison when sentenced on October 19.
