Arrest made in 2004 Henrietta hotel murder

ROCHESTER - The Monroe County Sheriff’s Office announces the arrest of Michael Baccari, 55, of 70 Meigs Street, Rochester, for the August 2, 2004, murder of Paul Pelletier, of Charwood Circle, Rochester. Pelletier, who was 33 at the time, was shot and killed while working as a night auditor at the Comfort Suites Hotel on Hylan Drive in Henrietta.

On August 2, 2004, around 3:10 in the morning, deputies responded to the Comfort Suites Hotel for the report of a stabbing. An associate from an adjacent hotel found Pelletier lying on the floor near the check-in desk.

Baccari was arrested late Wednesday evening and arraigned in Henrietta Town Court. He is being held without bail.

“Though this is a tragic incident that family, friends and coworkers of Mr. Pelletier will continue to live with, I hope that this arrest will bring some sense of closure for all who knew him.” said Sheriff Patrick O’Flynn. “We do not give up on cases. Our investigators have worked tirelessly to ensure that justice is served. We believe that there are other individuals with knowledge about this crime and would ask that they come forward by calling 9-1-1.”
