MALONE - State Police are investigateinga motor vehicle/ATV accident that occurred at the about 6 Wednesday evening at the intersection of State Route 30 and County Route 28 in the town of Malone.

Investigation at the scene revealed that an ATV, operated by William Derochie, II, 16, of Malone, was traveling with an uninvolved dirt bike west on County Route 28 at the intersection of State Route 30. Derochie failed to stop at the intersection and pulled into the path of a pickup truck traveling south on State Route 30.  The driver of the pickup was unable to avoid Derochie and struck the ATV, causing Derochie to be ejected. A back seat passenger in the truck sustained minor injuries.

The accident remains under investigation.
