Cayuga County bank robbed

AUBURN – The Cayuga County E-911 Center received a hold up alarm notification from the Bank of America located at 185 Grant Ave, Auburn at about 10:15 Thursday morning.  Police were immediately dispatched to the area and determined from bank employees that a man reportedly entered the bank and jumped the counter at one of the teller stations. The male demanded money from the teller but did not display a weapon. The teller complied and the male placed an undisclosed amount of money into a dark colored bag, jumped back over the counter and fled the bank on foot heading west to the rear of the bank and was last seen heading towards the tree line between the bank property and Standart Woods Apartments.

The suspect is a white male wearing a black and white checkered hooded jacket, a dark colored hat and dark bandana. The suspect was also wearing baggy blue jeans and dark colored sneakers.

The investigation is on-going.  Anyone with information concerning this incident is asked to contact the Auburn Police Department at 315-253-3231 or lead investigators Det.
