EASTPORT - Suffolk County Police arrested a Central Islip school teacher last night for driving while intoxicated and resisting arrest. Seventh Precinct patrol officers responded to a call at the Triangle Pub located on Old Montauk Highway in Eastport at 11:21 p.m. Jay Condrill, 47, had been asked to leave the premises after he was reportedly acting in a disorderly manner. He initially complied, but he returned. Police Officers Timothy Benson and Scott Jensen observed Condrill exiting his vehicle and he appeared to be in an intoxicated condition. When they attempted to place him under arrest, Condrill threatened to physically harm the officers and he refused orders to place his hands behind his back. The officers were forced to use physical force and ultimately had to deploy a taser in order to take him into custody. Condrill, who is employed as a teacher in the Central Islip School District, was charged with Driving While Intoxicated, Disorderly Conduct and Resisting Arrest. Condrill, of 611 Montauk Highway, Eastport, was transported to the Seventh Precinct for processing and then he was transported to Brookhaven Memorial Hospital Medical Center in East Patchogue, in accordance with departmental procedures. |
