Arrest made in hit and run fatal

WILLISTON PARK – Police say they have a suspect in the death of a pedestrian who apparently was struck by a vehicle last Sunday.  Raymond Kalenka, 45, of 86 Yale Street, Williston Park, is charged with leaving the scene of an accident with death.  He will be arraigned today in Hempstead.

The incident occurred on Sunday August 12, at approximately 4:10 a.m. in Williston Park.

Dean Lalima, 41, of Albertson, was discovered lying in the roadway at Syracuse Street and Broad Street. He had been struck by an unknown vehicle traveling north on Broad Street
