Police recover body of man who fled two weeks ago

GLENVILLE - State Police in Princetown have identified the body recovered from the Mohawk River in the town of Glenville early Sunday morning as Richard Bennett, 41, from Galway, NY.   Investigation has determined that Bennett is the driver who fled from a traffic stop in the area of State Route 5 and State Route 103 on the evening of July 26th.

An autopsy determined the cause of death to be asphyxia due to drowning. The death was ruled accidental. Toxicology results are pending.
