A tractor trailer traveling off an I-88 west overpass struck a passenger vehicle that was traveling on State Route 7 in the Town of Richmondville, Schoharie County. Troopers arrived within minutes to find both vehicles fully engulfed by flames.

The operator of the tractor trailer, whose identity is not being released pending family notification, was found deceased in the wreckage. Both occupants of the passenger vehicle are currently being treated at the Westchester Medical Center for serious burn injuries.

The tractor trailer was not carrying hazardous materials at the time of the accident. The investigation continues.  Anyone with information is asked to call the State Police in Cobleskill at 518-234-9402
