Argument escalates to arson

OCEANSIDE - Police in Nassau County report an arrest for arson that early Tuesdaymorning.

According to detectives, Suave Pereira, 18, of 2905 Court Street, Oceanside was involved in an altercation with a 57 year old male victim at the defendants’ home.   The defendant fled the scene to a nearby gas station and purchased a cigarette lighter and gasoline.  Pereira then returned to his home and poured gasoline onto the rear of the house and ignited it.  The fire was extinguished by several residents.  After an investigation Pereira was located and arrested at 6:15 am in Franklin Square. 

Pereira is charged with arson 2nd degree and will be arraigned today.
