Inmate hangs himself at state prison
WOODBOURNE – A prisoner committed suicide at the Woodbourne State Correctional Facility in Sullivan County early Friday, State Corrections spokesman Peter Cutler confirmed.
Jose Martinez, 39, was found hanging in his cell at 1:35 a.m. He was serving a three year, four month sentence for second-degree assault and had been at Woodbourne since November 2010.
