Two defendants get long prison terms for a dozen midtown gunpoint robberies

NEW YORK – The remaining two defendants who carried out 12 armed robberies in Manhattan are heading to prison.

Stephen Brown, 44, was sentenced to 20 years-to-life in state prison for committing a series of armed robberies last summer.   Last week, a separately charged defendant, Princess Sorden, 20, pled guilty to robbery in the first degree and criminal possession of a weapon in the fourth degree.

Earlier this year, a third defendant, Jed Cappelli, 34, was sentenced to 7 ½ years in state prison and 5 years post-release supervision for committing four gunpoint robberies in Manhattan last fall.
