OLD BROOKVILLE - Homicide Squad detectives are investigating a possible drowning that occurred in Oyster Bay Cove shortly after noon on Thursday.

According to detectives, Nassau County Marine Bureau responded to the Gracewood Association beach at the request of the Old Brookville Police Department for a female floating in the bay.  Marine Bureau police recovered the deceased from the water.  The deceased is described as a female white, believed to be in her 40’s. 

A positive identification has not yet been made.  The investigation is ongoing.
