Nassau police seek vehicle that fled fatal hit-and-run

MASSAPEQUA - Detectives are investigating a leaving the scene of a fatal auto accident that occurred on Monday, July 16, at 8:50 pm in Massapequa.

According to detectives, while crossing Merrick Road at Carmen Mill Road, a male pedestrian was struck by a vehicle that was eastbound on Merrick Road. The vehicle, described as being a dark colored sports car, possibly a Nissan 300, fled the scene eastbound on Merrick Road into Suffolk County.

The victim was dead at the scene.
