Rochester pedestrian killed

ROCHESTER – Monroe County deputies responded to the area of 1843 Empire Boulevard for a pedestrian accident late Tuesday evening.   The female driver of a car was traveling on Empire Boulevard in the curb lane (right) when she struck the male pedestrian. The driver did not see the individual prior to the accident. The male was transported to Strong Memorial Hospital where he was later pronounced dead.

The investigation revealed that approximately ten minutes prior to the accident a driver had seen the same individual walking in the intersection of Empire Boulevard and Bay Road. The male pedestrian appeared highly intoxicated and had fallen down. The driver stopped his vehicle and helped the individual to the side of the roadway. The driver asked him if he was okay and drove away.

The deceased male appears to be in his mid 40's and  was wearing shorts and a T-shirt.

At this point the male has not been identified.
