Woman found dead on Long Island was homicide victim

CENTRAL ISLIP - Suffolk County Police are investigating the death of a woman who was found lying beside the road in Central Islip Wednesday morning.

A passing motorist observed the body of an adult woman lying on the side of Pinewood Avenue at 7:27 a.m. Police identified the victim as Jennifer Perez, 20, of Central Islip.    Her body was taken to the Suffolk County Medical Examiner’s Office where an autopsy will be conducted to determine the cause of death.

Detectives are asking anyone with information to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS. All calls will be kept confidential.
