Violent weekend on Long Island – One shot to death, four others wounded in separate incident

UNIONDALE - Nassau County police are investigating a fatal shooting that occurred on Saturday July 7.

According to detectives, Nassau County Police officers from the First Precinct responded to a Shot Spotter activation at about 5 p.m. on Ditmas Avenue and discovered a male 26 fatally shot in the roadway.

In a separate and unrelated incident, police are investigating an assault that occurred late Saturday night.

According to detectives, three male black subjects fired multiple gunshots from a handgun at a group of people gathered on Swalm Street for a party. A male victim 21, sustained a gunshot wound to his left arm, a male victim 20, sustained wounds to his neck and chest, a female victim 17, sustained a gunshot to her right thigh, and a male 17, suffered a wound to his left leg. All victims were removed to local hospitals to be treated for their injuries. The subjects fled northbound on Swalm Street. There is no further description of the subjects at this time.
