Fatal ATV crash in Herkimer County
SALISBURY - State Police in Herkimer investigated a fatal ATV accident that occurred on Bingham Mill Road in the Town of Salisbury, Herkimer County, last Friday evening.
The ATV operated by James Siver, 32, of Salisbury, was traveling south on Bingham Mill Road when it exited the highway and struck a tree. Siver and a passenger, Leah Marie Holtz, 26, from Salisbury, NY were ejected.
Siver suffered injuries to both legs and pelvis and was air lifted by Lifenet helicopter to St. Elizabeths' Hospital in Utica. Holtz was pronounced dead at the scene.
Speed was a factor in this accident. The investigation is continuing.
