Suspect charged in two burglaries

LEVITTOWN - Police in Nassau County report an arrest for burglary that occurred on Saturday, June 30, in Levittown.  The suspect is also wanted for another burglary that occurred in April

According to detectives, an 81 year old female victim returned to her Elm Drive East residence at 10:30 pm.  Upon arrival the victim noticed that her glass back door was broken.  She continued inside, searched the home and found her iPad missing.  The police were notified and after further investigation, Julian T. Lauria, 28, of 157 Elm Drive East, Levittown was placed under arrest at his home.  The iPad was recovered. 

The defendant is being charged with Burglary 2nd Degree and 2 counts of Petit Larceny that occurred on April 11 and April 12, 2012.  The defendant entered a 7-11 store located at 2138 Hempstead Turnpike, East Meadow and removed assorted merchandise.

The defendant will be arraigned today in Hempstead.
