Landlord charged with menacing tenants with handgun

SOMERS -  State Troopers and Somers Police responded to a report of a landlord / tenant dispute at a residence on Young Road in Somers, late last Thursday. Additional information was received indicating that one of the involved individuals displayed a firearm.

Upon arrival at scene the owner of the property (landlord), Robert Kardian of Hawthorne, was taken into custody while in possession of a 38 cal. handgun.

The investigation revealed that Kardian had arrived at the residence earlier and became involved in a dispute with his tenant, a 41yr old woman, and her son while inside the residence. Kardian produced the handgun and menaced the tenants.

Kardian was arrested on two counts of menacing 2nd degree.  He is in the the Westchester County Jail in lieu of $25,000 bail.
