Man shot at in road rage incident

AMITYVILLE - Suffolk County Police are investigating an incident in which a man was shot at after an argument over a parking spot in Amityville this morning.  A suspect was later arrested.

A 30-year-old Massapequa man was at the Dunkin Donuts, located at 355 Broadway, Amityville, when he got into an argument with another male over a parking spot at 9:20 a.m.

After the argument, the Massapequa man got into his van, left the parking lot, and drove north on Broadway. The person he was arguing with, followed the man, caught up to him and fired one shot at his vehicle with a handgun, striking the front wheel well as  he was crossing over the Sunrise Highway overpass. The victim and his 21-year-old passenger were not struck or injured.

Police later reported the arrest of William Brown, 28, of 87 Maple Drive.  Brown is charged with reckless endangerment 1st degree and criminal possession of a weapon 2nd degree. He was arraigned at late Sunday.
