HUNTINGTON - Suffolk County Police Homicide Squad detectives are investigating the stabbing death of a Huntington man that occurred early Sunday morning.

Second Precinct patrol officers were called to 161 Spring Road in Huntington at 1:20 a.m. after a caller reported that a man was stabbed in the chest. The victim, Noel Mohammed, 44, who lived in the home, was taken to Huntington Hospital where he was pronounced dead a short time later.

A family member, whose identity is being withheld, is sought in connection with the stabbing. The investigation is continuing. Anyone with information on the incident is asked to call the Homicide Squad at 631-852-6392 or call anonymously to Crime Stoppers at 1-800-220-TIPS.
