PORT JEFFERSON STATION - Suffolk County Police have arrested a Port Jefferson Station man for impersonating a police officer and unlawfully taking a 19-year-old into his custody. David Bradley became involved in a road rage incident with another motorist at the intersection of Woodhull Avenue and Route 347 in Port Jefferson Station on June 10 at approximately 12 p.m. Bradley pulled his vehicle behind the other vehicle and activated emergency lights. Bradley, who was wearing a bulletproof vest, a badge and had what appeared to be a gun in a holster, identified himself as a United States Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) agent. Bradley handcuffed the teen and placed him in the rear of his vehicle. The victim was driven to Bradley’s residence, located at 163 Grove St. in Port Jefferson Station, and brought inside. Bradley removed the handcuffs after approximately five minutes and returned the victim to his vehicle and allowed him to leave. After the victim notified police on June 11, Bradley went to the Sixth Precinct in Selden to file a complaint about the road rage incident. Bradley, 39, was subsequently arrested and charged by Sixth Precinct Crime Section officers with Unlawful Imprisonment 2nd Degree and Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree. Further investigation determined that Bradley presented himself as an ICE agent to a Suffolk County police officer in an unsuccessful attempt to gain access to a crime scene on May 4. He has been charged with Criminal Impersonation 2nd Degree for this incident. Bradley will be held PENDING arraignment at First District Court in Central Islip on June 13. Officers are asking anyone who may have had similar contact with Bradley to call the Sixth Precinct Crime Section at 631-854-8626. |
