Teen killed when car flips into creek

CLINTON – A Yonkers youth died when the car in which he was a passenger rolled over into Wappinger Creek in the Dutchess County late Sunday morning.  Killed was Paul Williams, Jr., 16, a passenger in the car driven by his uncle.

The car ran off Clinton Hollow Road at 11:30 a.m, rolled over several times and submerged in the creek upside down.   The driver was able to get out and attempted to extricate his nephew.

The youth was finally pulled out, taken to Vassar Brothers Medical Center in Poughkeepsie where he was pronounced dead. The driver was treated for minor injuries.

The cause of the accident is under investigation by the Dutchess County Sheriff’s Office Accident Reconstruction Unit.
