Freeport man caught with phony C-notes

FREEPORT – Suffolk police report the arrest of a man who had a wad of counterfeit bills, Saturday morning, in Freeport.

Jalil Burton, 18, of 129 Casino Street, Freeport, was observed driving erratically and stopped by Freeport Police at West Merrick Road and Church Street.  During the stop Burton was found to be in possession of marihuana.  After being placed under arrest it was discovered the defendant was also in possession of twenty counterfeit one hundred dollar bills.

The defendant is charged with 20 counts of criminal possession of a forged instrument, unlawful possession of marihuana and two vehicle and traffic law violations.  He was arraigned on Sunday, in Hempstead.
