Senate, Assembly to each gain new district with redistricting plan
ALBANY – A legislative redistricting plan, based on the 2010 census, has been released. The Senate and Assembly would each gain one seat.
The new Senate seat, proposed by the majority Republicans, would run along the Hudson River from Amsterdam to just north of Poughkeepsie.
In the Assembly, the majority Democrats created a new seat near Rochester in suburban Monroe County.
