First significant snow of the season blanketing much of the state

Up to a half a foot of snow is likely to fall over a wide area ranging from New York City through the Catskills.  It will be the first accumulating snow in many areas since the unusual late-October storm.

Snow should taper off in many areas by early afternoon, and could disappear on Monday when temperatures are expected to soar into the 40s.
