ALBANY - The New York State Senate unanimously confirmed Jerome Hauer as Commissioner of the Division of Homeland Security and Emergency Services (DHSES). Hauer brings almost three decades of experience in the public and private sectors, the majority of which was focused in the areas of security and emergency management. Mr. Hauer is currently the Chief Executive Officer of the Hauer Group, a consulting firm that provides customized emergency management solutions to public and private clients around the world. Prior to starting the Hauer Group, Mr. Hauer served as a Co-Chair of the homeland security practice of Fleishman-Hillard Government Relations. "I am honored to be confirmed by the New York State Senate and thank the Governor for this opportunity to work for the safety and security of New Yorkers”, Hauer said. “Our state deserves an effective and efficient emergency service and homeland security operation that is ready to respond at a moment’s notice. This department provides countless vital services like fire safety and prevention and flood rescue teams, and I look forward to working with the fine men and women who have dedicated themselves to protecting the public safety of all New Yorkers." |
