Three dead in Hudson Valley crash

RED HOOK – Three men were killed when the car in which they were riding ran off State Route 9G in Red Hook early Saturday morning and struck a tree.

State Police said speed and alcohol were apparently contributed to the accident.

Favio Avila Debernard, 24, of Hudson was driving northbound at 1:13 a.m. when he lost control of his vehicle which went off the road just south of the Columbia County line and struck a tree.

He was pronounced dead at the scene along with his passengers, Ethan Keil, 22, of Hudson, and Micah Evans, 21, of Tivoli.

Troopers were assisted by State Police investigators and a State Police Collision Reconstruction Unit. They were also assisted at the scene by the Tivoli Fire Department, which extricated the victims from the vehicles.
