SUNY presidents like governor’s support for higher education

ALBANY  – Top officials at several SUNY colleges say they support for Governor Cuomo’s announced extension of the SUNY 2020 Challenge Grants to all SUNY campuses.

The program is “a vital educational and economic driver in the region,” said New Paltz President Donald Christian. “Our overarching goal is to provide a relevant and high-quality education that produces graduates prepared to meet 21st century workforce needs and to thrive in a diverse and complex global society.

The governor’s “promise to help community colleges achieve their goals and objectives was music to the ears of education, business, health care and green technology,” said Sullivan County Interim President William Murabito.
