NEW YORK - State Comptroller Thomas DiNapoli announced the appointment of Stephen Hamilton to the position of Inspector General for the Office of the State Comptroller.  Hamilton replaces George King, who served as Inspector General from 2007 until his retirement earlier this month.

Prior to this appointment, Hamilton served as Special Counsel for the Office of State Comptroller’s Investigations Unit of the Legal Services Division.  Hamilton also served as counsel for Law Enforcement and Compliance at the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation and the Associate Counsel for the New York State Ethics Commission.

Hamilton’s salary will be $150,000.
