Rochester seeks developer for Valley Court Apartments

ROCHESTER – The Department of Neighborhood Development Tuesday issued a request for proposals seeking a qualified developer to construct market rate housing on a 4 ½ acre parcel on Genesee Street known as Valley Court. It includes three apartment buildings.

All development proposals must include owner-occupant, market rate residential housing.

The site is close to the Genesee River, the University of Rochester/String Medical Center and it abuts Genesee Valley Park. City officials said all of those make the site an appealing and “ready-made market” for buyers interested in living close to their workplace and natural amenities.

“The successful development of the Valley Court parcel will be a real shot in the arm for the 19th Ward and all of Southwest Rochester,” said Mayor Robert Duffy.
