Police seek public’s assistance in cracking home invasion robbery |

AUBURN – On Sunday, March 7 at about 6:40 a.m., the Auburn Police Department was dispatched to 57 Orchard Street on the complaint of a burglary/robbery. The victim, who lives at that address, told police he was awoken by someone knocking at his door. The victim said he opened the door without looking to see who it was and when he did he stated he was assaulted by a suspect carrying a large piece of wood and wearing a black mask, black coat, tan pants and black sneakers. The suspect is further described as being a white male in his early twenties, slender build and approximately six feet tall. The victim suffered minor injuries during the assault. Once the suspect gained entry to the residence, he stole an undisclosed amount of money from the victim and then fled the scene where he was last seen running northbound on Jefferson St. towards Clark Street. Police are requesting the public’s assistance with the identification of this suspect and request anyone who may have been in the Orchard-Jefferson-Clark Street are during that time period and may have witnessed this suspect fleeing the scene or may have information concerning this incident is encouraged to contact lead investigator, Det.
