Acting State Police superintendant retires

ALBANY – For the second time in a week, a top State Police official has announced his retirement.  Acting Superintendent Pedro Perez will leave 28 years of service.

By law, in the absence of the Superintendent and the First Deputy Superintendent, the Field Commander shall assume the duties of the Superintendent.

Deputy Superintendent John Melville will assume the duties of Acting Superintendent of the New York State Police at the close of business, Friday, March 12, 2010.

Last week, Superintendent Harry Corbitt announced his retirement and left the next day.
