Buffalo celebrates “Wear Red Day”

BUFFALO - Mayor Brown delivered a proclamation naming February 5th “Wear Red Day in Buffalo.”  Also joining the mayor were cardiologist and Go Red for Women chair, Dr. Margaret Paroski; Greatbatch CEO, Tom Hook; and local survivor, Kelly Rummings.

This year Niagara Falls has further proven its commitment to raising the awareness of heart disease in women by temporarily suspending its special lighting for the Olympics to light red for Wear Red Day.  The Falls were lit in red Friday evening.

The City Hall event will also included the announcement that Greatbatch is the American Heart Association’s Hero of the Heart winner for 2010.  The award was officially presented at the annual Heart Ball the Saturday night.
