Mayor Brown encourages residents to donate to those less fortunate this holiday season

BUFFALO – With the holiday season fast approaching, Mayor Byron Brown today urged all city residents to make donations to the Food Bank of Western New York.

“I’m pleased to join the Food Bank of Western New York to raise awareness regarding the needs of those less fortunate in our community during this holiday season,” said Mayor Brown. “We need to help replenish the supply of food at the food bank, so that this critically important organization can help our fellow citizens.”

Collection barrels will be placed throughout City Hall, including the Grand Lobby during the holiday season.

Food items can be donated at Food Bank Headquarters at 91 Holt St., from  7:00 a.m.-6:00 p.m. Monday through Friday and from 8:00 a.m.-1:00 p.m. on Saturday.  Those interested in donating can go to www.foodbankwny.org for more information and directions to the Food Bank.
