Body found in burned out Schenectady County garage

DELANSON - State Police received a report of an explosion and structure fire at 1132 Thousand Acres Road, Delanson.  During their investigation, a body was found.   

The fire occurred in a four car garage, detached from the residence at the above address. The entire garage structure was destroyed. Upon extinguishing the blaze, a body was found inside one of the vehicles located within the garage.

The cause and origin of the fire are being investigated by the New York State Office of Fire Prevention and Control, Schenectady County Fire Investigators and the New York State Police. The identity of the victim and the cause of death are still under investigation. An autopsy on the victim is scheduled for later today.
