One dead in Erie County crash

BOSTON - State Police based responded to an Erie County 911 call and investigated a fatal accident, involving a large truck and a pickup,  in the Town of Concord, Erie County.

Investigation revealed that at approximately 6:00pm, a tractor trailer traveling eastbound on Genesee Road, failed to stop at a stop sign at the intersection of Genesee Rd and Springville-Boston Rd and struck a pickup truck, which was southbound on Springville-Boston Rd.

The intersection was closed for several hours by Uniform Troopers as investigative efforts continued. The collision caused power lines to be severed in the immediate area.

The driver of the pickup, Joseph Nebrich, , of Cattaraugus, pronounced dead at the scene. The driver of the tractor trailer, Daniel Taft, 22, of Japser, New York was not injured.  He was cited for failing to yield to the stop sign.

New York State Police Collision Reconstruction and Commercial Vehicle Units are continuing with the investigation.
