Four saved from burning house

COPIAGUE – Police officers rushed into a burning Copiague house and escorted four adults to safety, Sunday afternoon.

Officers Adam Quinones, Rick Mascio and Mike Maio responded to the fire at 16 Oak Street, shortly after 4 p.m.  When they arrived, a neighbor told them that kids were in the back of the home.  Officers knocked down the back door, but found no one inside.  Officers then entered the front door and found a woman trying to get to the second floor to save her dog.  She said three men were living in the basement.

The four adults were able to get out safely, and so did the dog.  A fireman rescued the dog from the second floor roof.
