Mastic man charged with multiple pharmacy robberies

RONKONKOMA – Police say they have solved a series of pharmacy robberies that happened five years ago.

William Kolkmeyer, 64, of Mastic, was arrested Thursday morning.  He is charged with four robberies that happened in 2004 and 2005 at various Suffolk County pharmacies and drug stores, and the attempted robbery of a fifth pharmacy.

He is implicated in two other incidents for which the statute of limitations has expired.

In each incident, Kolkmeyer allegedly displayed a handgun or scissors, or pointed what appeared to be a gun, through clothing.  In each of the incidents, he demanded methadone.

Kolkmeyer is charged with five counts of first degree robbery and one count of attempted robbery.
