DHCR approves $1.6 million in economic development funds to grow upstate businesses

ALBANY - Deborah VanAmerongen, Commissioner of the NYS Division of Housing and Community Renewal (DHCR) announced $1.6 million in NYS Community Development Block Grant (NYS CDBG) and Small Business Assistance Program awards to support businesses in Chemung, Rensselaer, Wyoming, Genesee, and Oswego Counties and create 129 new jobs for local residents.

"New York State's Community Development Block Grant and Small Business Assistance Programs are generating new economic activity and creating jobs in communities across the state”, VanAmerongen said.  “The funds announced today will provide a boost to local economies and help areas throughout the state recover from the economic downturn. "

  • Chemung County Will Receive $750,000 to Help Schlumberger Technology Create 70 Jobs
  • Rensselaer County Will Receive $406,000 to Help Pacamor Kubar Bearings Expand and Create 26 Jobs
  • Wyoming County Will Receive $256,000 to Help Marquart Bros., LLC Expand, Create 16 Jobs
  • The Town of Pembroke in Genesee County Will Receive $166,000 to Help Yancey's Fancy, Inc. Expand, Create 15 Jobs
  • Oswego County Will Receive $50,000 to Help Uniforms, Etc. Expand, Meet Increased Demand
