Huntington Station man pleads not guilty to homicide indictment

RIVERDALE -- A suspect in a ten-month old Melville murder pleaded not guilty at his arraignment Tuesday before State Supreme Court Justice Robert Doyle.  Suffolk District Attorney Thomas Spota said Brandon Palladino, the victim’s son-in-law, pleaded not guilty at his arraignment on two charges of murder in the second degree.

Diane Edwards, 59, was found dead in an upstairs bedroom of her Melville home on West Hills Road on December 17, 2008.

The indictment contains one count of intentional murder; the second charge is murder in the second degree committed during the course of a burglary.

Palladino, 22, of 21 Covington Street, Huntington Station, has pending charges of criminal possession of a controlled substance (heroin) from arrests in March and September of this year.

Palladino was remanded to the county jail.
