Rochester awarded Clean Cities funding

ROCHESTER – The U.S. Department of Energy awarded a $26,000 grant under the Clean Cities Alternative Fuel and Advanced Technology Vehicle Pilot Grant Progtram.  The money, part of the American REcoveery and Reinvestment Act, will be used for six electric vehicles for use at Mt. Hope and Riverside cemeteries, and two compressed natural gas vehicles for use by the Westside parking monitors.

The city submitted its application in May as part of a larger proposal by the New York State Energy Research Development Authority.
